Tucked in a quiet area in Sakumono in Accra, lies DziDzi's Spa. Just a few months old, this spa is already gaining fame for its services. I decided to visit the spa and try it out for myself.
Already quite famous for her make-up and hair talent, Spa owner DziDzi decided to take her beauty services to the next level by extending her services. At the Dzidzi spa men and women can indulge in full body massages, manicures and pedicures and hair grooming.
During my visit, I decided to try their the Citrus splash manicure. Something new, why not?? This treatment involved my feet being soaked in a water full of citrus fruit and flowers; quite esthetically pleasing. So I had to ask, why citrus fruits? What was so special about them for my feet? They prevent skin discoloration and foot fungal infections. As we grow older, our nail could starts to change and the lime in the citrus bath prevents this. The bath also feeds the skin with vitamin C and E.
After the feet are soaked in the citrus bath for a few minutes, the citrus fruits, (oranges, lemons, grape fruit and lime) are used to scrub your feet. The fruit cut is dipped to sugar and then stubbed all over the foot!! I defiantly felt the tingle of the citric acid meaning my skin was absorbing it all. The main idea for the citrus pedicure is to use all natural ingredients. Before my nails were painted, my feet were massaged with olive oil.
Next up, I got a stone massage. The stones were warm and relaxed me very much. They were then used to kneed into my back, breaking all the knots.
I could have really stayed there all day.
A very important part of the spa for me was the management. They were fun and very welcoming. it felt as if everyone who worked there was part of a family and they quickly pull you in! Thank you guys for having me! I had a blast!
